Now it's just a place where I procrastinate, whine and waste way too much cosmic energy on what should have just been a passing thought in my head. ********************************* A DISCLAIMER (some useful language stolen from lonecoyote11 - thanks, friend!): I have been HIPAA trained and respect the privacy of my patients. The patient stories you read here have been changed to protect all identities. Sometimes I'll publish a story months after I've seen someone; sometimes I'll combine several patients into one. Always, I'll change identifying characteristics, such as age, gender, profession, specific illness, etc. I do not make stories up and I do my damnest to preserve the heart of my patient's experiences without revealing their identities. If someone mentioned here sounds like your grandma, you can ponder the singleness of the human experience, but no, it's not her.

Funny, someone forwrded me a link to that same picture from Ariana Huffington's blog this morning. I think Path may indeed be calling me :) I knew Psych was out anyway....

rabbit: the people who hate both kids and adults would probably be better off with the dead people or the x-rays...
Well, I'm not clamoring to announce that I'm crazy, but I'm guessing that to most people who are not in medical school, the mere thought of choosing to surround yourself with the daily blood and guts (mental-psychiatry; physical-emergency medicine) of humanity can seem a little whacked out.
