I started this to keep up with friends and family while in medical school. Now it's just a place where I procrastinate, whine and waste way too much cosmic energy on what should have just been a passing thought in my head. ********************************* A DISCLAIMER (some useful language stolen from lonecoyote11 - thanks, friend!): I have been HIPAA trained and respect the privacy of my patients. The patient stories you read here have been changed to protect all identities. Sometimes I'll publish a story months after I've seen someone; sometimes I'll combine several patients into one. Always, I'll change identifying characteristics, such as age, gender, profession, specific illness, etc. I do not make stories up and I do my damnest to preserve the heart of my patient's experiences without revealing their identities. If someone mentioned here sounds like your grandma, you can ponder the singleness of the human experience, but no, it's not her.

They annoyed and angered us when they said it becaused it seemed so idiotic even back then.

(And yet, it is still sad and frightening to see just how wrong they all were.)
