I started this to keep up with friends and family while in medical school. The patient stories you read here have been changed to protect all identities. Sometimes I'll publish a story months after I've seen someone; sometimes I'll combine several patients into one. Always, I'll change identifying characteristics, such as age, gender, profession, specific illness, etc. I do not make stories up and I do my damnest to preserve the heart of my patient's experiences without revealing their identities. If someone mentioned here sounds like your grandma, you can ponder the singleness of the human experience, but no, it's not her.
