one of my favorite stanzas from a poem when i was into these things (oh a decade or so ago) and thought i knew who i was and where i was going:
"Today, like every other day,
we wake up empty and frightened.
Don't open the door to the study and begin reading.
Take down a musical instrument.
Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground."
- rumi, sufi poet, 13th century
ha. i wish i had the conviction of my 18 year old self.
(...and that i wasn't sleep deprived, overwhelmed and in the middle of yet another finals week.
maybe there's a reason doctors become self-entitled assholes.)

I like that.
The more we go on, the less and less we are sure of ourselves. I feel the same way! Wish I had an internal GPS!
Unfortunately, I just lost my AAA membership, since I decided my financial aid couldn't afford such an extravagant lifestyle. And, if there's a storm, they clear all the accidents that are blocking traffic, which means they might take a day or two to get to you.
