I have not left my apartment in almost 48 hours.
My sleep schedule reflects my current combination of jetlag, headcold, and finals week stress:
e.g.
Sunday:
6 hrs of sleep on the PST equivalent of Sun afternoon
Monday:
- about twenty 5 minute naps on plane to SFO on Mon afternoon
- 1 hr of attempt to sleep Monday 11pm-midnight
Tuesday:
- 4 hrs of sleep Tuesday morning 5am-9am
Wednesday:
- 15 min attempt to sleep Wed morning 4am-4:15 am
(practice surgery rotation 5am-9am)
- 6 hrs of grateful sleep Wed morning 10am-4pm
Thurday:
- 6 hrs of sleep Thursday morning 5am-11am
Friday:
Tonight/this morning? Who knows. Wide awake and plugging away at pharmacology at 1:45 am and have to be at school tomorrow by noon. Might skip out on the sleep thing altogether and catch up tomorrow night, with a few efficient naps in between. (The insanity creeps up slowly, I know).
My aunt told me that she remembers how her fellow students used to put their feet into buckets of cold water to keep themselves awake while studying for exams. (This had a much greater effect on me when I was getting frostbite in her 40F house.)
I am grateful that I can just rely on King Size "protein rich" Tiger's Milk bars and good black tea.
