I started this to keep up with friends and family while in medical school. The patient stories you read here have been changed to protect all identities. Sometimes I'll publish a story months after I've seen someone; sometimes I'll combine several patients into one. Always, I'll change identifying characteristics, such as age, gender, profession, specific illness, etc. I do not make stories up and I do my damnest to preserve the heart of my patient's experiences without revealing their identities.
