Medicine AI, Day ?

I just finished my two discharge summaries (at 11pm), hit the send button, and happily exclaimed to myself "yay! i'm on vacation!"

Now the sad thing is not (just) that I am not on vacation. The sad thing is that tomorrow is my only day off (as in the one day every 7 or so days - weekends do not exist), and I am so tired, so relieved to take a break from this nonstop 4am-11pm schedule, that I feel like a kid on the last day of school heading to summer vacation.

Except my vacation is 24 hours long. And it's already 11pm.

Tomorrow I have a whole 12 hours of daylight to shop, clean, rest, work on applications, and cook for the week, before starting 6am-midnight call again the next day.

And I'm celebrating that I've been given this wonderful break.

What you mean being in the hospital every second of the day doesn't make you feel happy to be alive?! What kind of med student are you? Obviously not the kind going into Peds...
