Other than the 6 24-hour shifts on labor and delivery that I will have to do next month, I have finished the difficult part of my 3rd year. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO!
This weekend started with a great night spent with friends - eating, drinking, playing pool and watching movies. I then went home to celebrate my mom's birthday, catch up with family, eat my dad's amazingly good food (sat's dinner: creamy cucumber soup, sirloin baked with browned potatoes and sauteed onions, chocolate souffle with fresh whipped cream and lemon drizzle), catch up with bay area friends, hike the lafayette and berkeley hills, and even, uh-hm, do some outlet shopping.
Today, I had a two hour orientation for my next two weeks of clinic and was then assigned a "study day" - day off. I went home giddily, called up a friend in london, took a nap and then went on a long walk through my neighborhood. I can now confidently say that I am starting to feel a sane again, though I guess, first the giddiness has to wear off.
