Did you know that your superior constrictor muscle (found in the pharynx)
takes its origin from:
the hamulus of the medial pterygoid process of the sphenoid bone, and
the ptrygomandibular raphe, and
the mylohyoid line on the mandible, and
the side of the tongue
and inserts into:
the median raphe of the pharynx, and
the pharyngeal tubercle of the occipital bone
?
There are six muscles in your pharynx, (all about the size of your thumb), and a whole lot of other similarily poetically named fascias, muscles, nerves, etc. We'll be quized Tuesday on all those found in the neck, pharynx, soft palate, nasal and oral cavities and sinuses.
Sooo, that is why there hasn't been a blog recently (and that damned election left me too emotional to write)...but I'll add something real to my blog soon.
