And it starts...

I turned 27 and and started medical school on Monday. Trying to write a blog makes me keenly aware of how little time I leave myself for reflection. I never really finished writing about Australia (it was a wonderful trip) and -between moving, catching up with family and friends, and getting ready for school - I never even mentioned Burning Man. Well, maybe if I have some time (haha), I'll figure out how to at least post some more pictures.

Today (yesterday, I guess, as it is 2am on the 29th right now) was our second day of class and first day of anatomy lab. My day went something like this:

7 am: wake up late and with a cold (meant to get up before 6am to review previous day's lecture and go over the notes for today).
8am-10am: Intro to Doctoring class (could have been much shorter)
11 am: Anatomy lecture: Introduction to the Autonomic nervous system (continuation from yesterday's CNS/PNS overview)
noon: Lunchtime lecture on Internal Medicine
1pm: Anatomy lecture: Introduction to the Thorax (anterior muscles and their innervations)
2-5 pm: Anatomy lab: Dissection of the thorax (removal of skin and superficial fascia, reflection of the pectoris major and minor, and general diggin' around looking for various identifiable nerves, veins and arteries)
5-7 pm: Go home, shower away the formaldehyde stink in my hair, eat dinner
7-10 pm: Study group at my house
10 pm: Trip to the grocery store for baking supplies
11pm-2am: Make cheesecake for my Doctoring class tomorrow morning (yes, it is a mandatory assignment), study a bit of anatomy and succeed in finally launchign this blog.
2-3 am: Start reading for tomorrow's Doctoring classes and um, study...
