Food and water has been brought to many of the refugees since Friday, but many are still stranded in the exposed heat and hot temperatures, surrounded by garbage and human waste. In today's SFGate there is an article about an overpass where rescuers have been dropping off people for the last week and leaving them there. They have no shelter or shade, there are infants and elderly among them, and they are being kept from leaving by police with guns. No one seems to have thought about bringing in tents or shade shelters for these people, and it has almost been a week. They and their lives are not being treated with the diginity and respect you and I would expect to receive from our government.
